New Residence Berkeley architect Andus H. Brandt has completed nine new-house designs that showcase his design ability and client sensitivity with regards to room additions and kitchen remodeling projects. The most recent of them is a retirement house nestled into a hillside in the Sierras. The design was based on the client's dreams and sketches. It is a large house with high, exposed beam ceilings, a farmhouse-style kitchen, and a huge shop area below the main floor. The natural wood siding and standing seam roof blend in well for the area. |
